fireworks

I really do like the 4th of July.  I love the heat, the celebration, the BBQ's and the fireworks.  This year for the fourth we started the day at Seven Peaks water park, it was a little crowded but we still managed to have fun.  Scott took Brennen on a big water slide then he wanted to go down all by himself, the next time he wanted to do it without his life jacket.  William caught him at the bottom and he was sooo mad.  He was scolding Will and saying "I KNOW HOW TO SWIM don't help me!"  William was just trying to be his helpful self but Brennen was livid until we let him do it again this time with out any help.
After the water park we rushed home to get ready for the traditional festivities.
We stopped at the dollar store on our way and purchased a bunch of glow sticks.  Gotta love the dollar store.  This kept the kids occupied until the fireworks started.
There is just something awe inspiring about fireworks. I love that moment when the children freeze from running wild and stare transfixed at the awesomeness that is fireworks.  I love watching their faces light up with the explosions. The best ones are the large one that crack so loudly you can feel it in your chest that enormous boom the precedes the blaze.
