We headed up town the see the famous Thunderbirds at Hill Air Force. It was a typical hot sunny July day but what better way to celebrate the birth and freedom of our wonderful country.
Scott's sister her kids and his mom came with is to watch these acrobats in the sky. It probably wasn't the best idea to bring people who don't like the heat or sun and hate walking around but you do for family and so we brought them. They did do pretty good considering. Even though they forgot to reapply the sunblock. Half of them got pretty fried.
Scott was in heaven. Just like a little boy meeting his super hero. And I have to admit, these pilots were very impressive. I love that Rhett break the sound barrier so you see the plane right on top of you before you hear it coming. It makes for a cool effect.
While Ellie my sisters and I were at Swiss Days Scott took the boys to the mountain man festival in Wyoming. They met some of my brothers there. They had a great time doing all the manly things. They tried their hand at axe and hatchet throwing with some success. After ward they all just had to have their own hatchet. There was a guy there who could burn letters into the wood handles using the sun and a magnifying class. So they got their initials on them. When a cloud covered the sun the man stopped and said "just a minute we are having technical difficulties. Brennen chose a hatchet with a heart stamped out of the blade. They brought me home an Indian flute and Ellie a leather journal.
