I think the kids liked the camels the most. |
We were lucky enough to score some tickets to the Alpine City live Nativity this year. It's one of those events were the tickets sell out in like 2 minutes, so lucky. I found a lady on Facebook that was selling the exact number of tickets that we needed.
When we got to our destination there were Roman soldiers barking orders and telling us to go pay our taxes. They gave Peter a hard time and he joked back with them with a little weariness. As we walked toward the city there were a few animals out in a pen that the kids could see and pet. Once we got in the "city" It was in a big barn, it was noisy and crowded with people selling and making their wares. Everyone was dressed in period pieces. They even had camels and turkey's inside. After we left the city we followed a path past some angelic carolers to another smaller barn. Inside this barn it was warm and quiet. It was here that we got to see the baby Jesus.
It gave us a small feeling of what it would have been like. All those people and noise. No wonder Christ was born in a lowly stable. It was much more peaceful there.
It was crazy cold that night. |
No, I think this was their favorite part. Mine to. |
