Tibble Fork reservoir has recently been revamped. They totally drained the lake, re-dug the boundaries and put in a new beach and dock. We just had to check it out. I love having a place like this so close to us. Of course we took Shelby along. One thing about this water is that it is freezing cold all year round so you really only play in it when its hot outside. We got everything thing set up and the kids took out the paddle board and the inflatable raft. Shelby LOVES to swim. We let her frolic for a little while but the problem is she is such a mother hen. When the kids got too far out on the paddle board she would be so nervous for them she would wine and wine and swim out to them. She feels like she has to save every kid on the water. When she swam out and pulled a random kid out of the water by grabbing onto his life jacket and pulling him to shore, we decided it was time to tie her up for a little bit. Thankfully the kid and his mom thought the whole thing was funny.
When I decided to take the paddle board out on the lake Shelby was tied up to her stake as she watched me with anxious eyes and a firm stance. I got out halfway into the lake and it was too much for her worried heart. She broke free of her stake and swam out to meet me. With the water so cold she was exhausted by the time she caught up with me so I pulled her onto the paddle board as we paddled back to shore. She was so happy to be playing and swimming with her kids she had a permanent smile on her face the whole day. We truly are blessed
