Griffith Observatory
We had a Saturday with nothing to do, so we decided on a day at the zoo, and invited our friends the Wilkeys to join us. The weather had other plans so we went to a plan B.
The Griffith Observatory.
We hadn't been there in awhile and its all indoors so we donned our hoodies and drove up the hill. This was the first time we were able to see the scenery so clearly because all the rain had cleaned up that famous LA smog that plagues the city.
I do love going to these nerdy science places and learning new things or things I once learned but forgot.
The building itself is quite beautiful but my favorite thing there is the jewelry art piece. It starts out as a burst of stars and then goes on through the time periods but everything is a sort of star, moon, or other astronomy item but it is all jewelry. I love to look at the pieces and think how fun it would have been to find all the pieces. Going to garage sales, thrift stores, and antique shop. The thrill of the hunt.
The other stuff is cool too. William was so impressed with the meteors, and Ellie loved the different facts about all the planets. Peter and Brennen hung out with Einstein and Scott loves it all.
