Sunday Walk

One of my favorite things is to go for a walk every sunday. The kids complain every week but as soon as we get walking they love it. So why do they complain? who knows. I guess it is just their way of trying to make us crazy. Brennen usually brings his "shake and go" car. This sunday Peter wanted in on the action. It was such a sweet moment of the simple things in life I had to keep it.

Ducks

Williams kindergarten class hatched ducklings this year. Because it is the end of the school year they had a raffle to see who would take the ducks home. (with parents permission) Guess who won that raffle? Yes I said it was okay to take home ducks because they are my favorite animal.
We brought them home and one didn't make it through the night. The move was just too tramatic. So I spent the rest of the next morning trying to find a place that sold ducklings. Not as easy as it sounds. I finally found a place and we bought the yellow one with the funny hat. It is called a crested duck. Its a little bigger than the brown one but that doesn't seem to matter.
Now the trick is trying to keep the dog from eating them.

wave runners

These are our new toys a couple of '99 sea-doo's. Or as William calls them "Ski Runners". We were so excited to get them, we have wanted some of our own for a long time so we finally made it happen. This is our first trip with them. We went to Castaic Lake because it is only 12 min away. It was a great place to just see how well they actually ran. They were awesome by the way. We had a blast!! Although we probably wont be going there again they have too many rules and only a small area, with no beach where jet skis are allowed. We mainly went there just to make sure everything worked okay. The yellow one is super fast!!! The purple one has a lot of power but is nice and smooth. All in all I was very happy with them. The water was good the kids had a blast. Even peter loved the lake I brought his tube and he would squeal with delight just bobbing in the water. This is the beginning of a great summer

paintings

These are just some paintings I did that I thought I should keep a record of just because. Most of them I did for a friend of mine. She wanted some artwork for her house. The palm trees are the mural I did in my boys room. They have a bunk bed that looks like a pirate ship so I painted this on the opposite side I am most happy with the big leaves I think they look the most real. The ones of the boats are quite large. They are about 4' x 6' I did those for a special church function.

Rope Bridge

The kids were bored so I set up an old fashioned rope bridge by tying 2 ropes to opposite trees. The kids absolutely love it. Not to mention it helps hone their balance skills. There is a neighbor boy who comes over all the time and I think he loved it the most. He kept saying thank you for building this thing for us its awesome!! Thank you thank you!!.
(Don't mention it kid it was just a couple of ropes) Its the simple things that kids love the most. They asked if they could keep it up forever. I said either that or until I need the space or the ropes. They were okay with that. Now they want to build a tree house. I guess I could have fun with that as a summer project.

GQ

Here are the new GAP models for their spring line aren't they super cute? Actually its all from Children's Place but still you get the idea. This was their Easter garb. I loved the green White and purple. I had a hard

time convincing the big kids to let me take their picture so there is only one of each Oh well at least its documented. I can't believe how much everyone is growing up. I feel like I just did their Easter pictures and Peter was a tiny baby
I don't want to brag but Peter looked extra adorable, or is it just me that thinks that?

Vasquez Rocks

Our church had a family picnic at Vasquez Rocks this Saturday. It was a nice get together. I don't have any pictures of the bigger kids because they were too busy hiking and exploring. I was too busy playing also , so part of that is my fault. They had football, soccer, bocce ball, ladder ball, kite flying, bubbles and more. A bunch of boys even brought nerf guns so they had a war. That was Williams favorite part. The place was cool. If you can picture the scenery from Lion King and Lake Powell and put them together, that is what Vasquez Rocks looks like. Poor Scott got super sunburned beacuse we didn't think to put sunblock on him. All in all it was a nice way to spend a Saturday.
