We had a day that needed to be filled with something fun. Scott came up with the idea to go to the Natural History museum. They were having a chocolate exhibit so of course I was on board. I love coming to places like this. Its interesting, educational, and fun. I am hoping if we take our kids to enough of these kinds of things they will think the same thing. So far its mostly true. There are day when they are not interested but thankfully this was not one of those days. We smelled the chocolate as soon as we walked in instantly turning everyone in a good mood. We started at the top with the native American displays then worked our way down. The kids loved all the animals. They watched the spiders, tried to find the lizards, admired the butterflies, and marveled at the dinosaurs. Brennen tried desperately to create an earthquake with very little success but he was happy to make the needle move. Ellie enjoyed the pottery exhibits. Peter couldn't get enough of the sand and water and William was happy to discover the hidden animals. It was a nice relaxing day at the museum. We saw all there was to see and even got to go through the chocolate exhibit and taste the chocolate. Yum.
Afterward we ate a Corner Bakery, a place we loved going to in California and now they have them here. An interesting fact we learned. They actually pump the smell of chocolate throughout the Leonardo museum through the air vents. It is said to calm people and give a good experience. I can believe that. Maybe that's why my children were so well behaved at the museum.
