Junkanoo

Peters hat was so big he couldn't stand up by himself.

While we were in Nassau Bahamas we did a little learning. The kids favorite was about the Junkanoo festival. Basically it boils down to the slaves had three days off to do whatever. It would be like our Christmas holiday. So they had festival with the main decoration beings made out of paper because it was forbidden for the slaves to be educated therefore they could not use paper.
So they make these amazing costumes out of cardboard and crepe paper then they have a parade and make a bunch of noise. The noise was the kids favorite part.
